This summer, IMPACT Scotland hosted an event at the University of Stirling on dementia and ageing. The participants included people with knowledge of policy, practice and lived experience of dementia, caring, ageing and frailty in Scotland.
It was a lively, participatory event. Insights were shared from three IMPACT projects on these important topics. There were also facilitated discussions about how to take the learning forward, and there was lots of networking over lunch.
A film providing an overview of the day is available here:
The three presentations were:
- Kayleigh Lytham on improving ‘living grief’ support for people with dementia and their families, a 2025-26 IMPACT Facilitator hosted by Carers of West Lothian.
- Andy Wynd on co-producing a quality service standards framework for people with dementia, another 2025-26 IMPACT Facilitator, this one hosted by Meeting Centres Scotland
- Marina Maciver and Patricia Clapham on enabling people at risk of or living with frailty to Age Well in the Western Isles, a 2025-26 IMPACT Demonstrator project hosted by Western Isles Integrated Board.
