Improving the support of people with substance dependence in care homes
Project Background
Aberdeen Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) are aware of a number of challenges in sourcing and supporting residential accommodation (care homes, sheltered accommodation) for people with substance use and other complex needs. These include residential staff’s understanding of long-term substance and very little resources to help staff provide substance use support. The Facilitator project will work with people with experience of substance use, and support staff and managers to explore the challenges and opportunities for improving support. It will develop a co-produced action plan to improve care home and sheltered housing support for people with experience of substance use.
