We are looking for organisations that will work with us in 2026-27 as part of our IMPACT Networks (each Network is made up of five local groups across the UK). We are seeking coordinators to coordinate one group in particular nations. Networks will start from September 2026 onwards and run for 6 months.
Full details of the application process and potential projects can be found below.
Applications close on 30/03/26.
IMPACT Network Coordinators
IMPACT Networks are one of IMPACT’s delivery models, operating across all four nations of the UK, sharing evidence, learning and ideas. We are approaching key actors in adult social care, including funders/decision-makers, service providers, people who receive care and support, carers and staff who provide care to Local Network Coordinators who will:
- Attend a training and planning meeting with other Local Network Coordinators.
- Work with IMPACT to recruit 8-10 members, including people who receive care and support, carers, front-line staff, funders/decision-makers and relevant service providers to their local Network.
- Run four Network meetings, roughly six weeks apart, with financial resources available to support this (including room hire and refreshments).
- Lead the discussion at the Network meetings, guided by the materials supplied by IMPACT.
- Summarise the points raised in each meeting and send a note of this to IMPACT’s Networks Manager.
- Meet three times with the other Local Network Coordinators from across the UK to plan and debrief after each Network meeting.
- Work with their Local Network to create an action plan for practical change.
- Provide feedback six and 12 months after the Network ends.
There are resources available to support the IMPACT Networks and your involvement as a Local Network Coordinator, including:
- A Local Network Coordinator fee (£5,000).
- Additional resources to support participation costs (up to £3,360, including support for people who are unsalaried [£120 per person per meeting], replacement care/PA support for Network members, travel expenses)
- The support of the Networks Team
Network Topics
Running Networks in 2026-27 the topics listed below. We are seeking representation in specific countries.
Developing ‘neighbourhood health’ approaches/integrated neighbourhood teams
This Network will explore approaches that shift away from reactive, hospital-centred care to proactive, community-based support. Care and support are typically provided by multidisciplinary groups, blending health, social care, and voluntary sector services. Recruiting coordinators from Northern Ireland and Wales only.
Promoting human rights-based approaches to adult social care
In this Network, the focus will be on how support can move away from a “service-led” model—where people are passive recipients of care—to a “rights-led” approach. Rights-based approaches ensure that the dignity, autonomy, and basic rights of individuals are the starting point for every decision, rather than an afterthought or a compliance tick-box. Recruiting coordinators from Northern Ireland and Wales only.
Promoting more relationship-centred care
This Network will explore relationship-centred care as a way to achieve better outcomes by fostering meaningful connections between people receiving care, people working in the care sector, families and the community. It moves beyond task-oriented care to enhance empathy, trust, and mutual respect, improving quality of life and job satisfaction. Recruiting coordinators from Northern Ireland and Wales only.
Improving access to transport for people who draw on care and support (and carers and staff)
Improving access to transport is often the “missing link” in social care. Services and support cannot be effective if the people who need them—and the staff who provide them—cannot physically reach them. This Network focuses on removing the logistical barriers that lead to isolation and service breakdown. Recruiting coordinators in Northern Ireland and England only.
Sustaining and scaling innovation
Sustaining and scaling innovation in social care is the process of taking localised, ‘ideas worth sharing’ successes and turning them into stable, long-term practice across an entire system or nationally. This Network will examine how we can move past “pilotitis” – where great ideas are not maintained when their initial pilot funding ends – and creating an ecosystem where innovation can be shared, sustained and scaled. This might involve how we understand/evidence the outcomes being achieved, how we encourage others to take note and how we plan for longer-term sustainability from the outset. Recruiting coordinators in Northern Ireland and Scotland only
